Vince Bordo, MS, CBAP
Vince is a senior Business Analyst (BA), Instructor, and Consultant with over 25 years experience in the Information Technology (IT) field. His knowledge, compelling teaching style and use of creative mentoring techniques are his trademark. Vince has presented at numerous conferences, seminars, webcasts, and trade shows, and has developed and rolled-out corporate-wide programs for Business Analysis and Agile/Scrum for many companies.
Vince’s early career experience was in the field of Systems Analysis with companies including General Electric and Lockheed Martin. There he served as a Chief Engineer on tactical information systems for the U.S. Air Force. Following this, he served as a Software Test Manager responsible for all activities associated with the planning, delivery, installation, and testing of a worldwide distributed system for the U.S. Government.
Vince has managed dozens of Agile projects as a ScrumMaster and has helped numerous companies transition, adopt and apply Agile principles, techniques, and processes. He has taught hundreds of Agile team members how to effectively apply Agile processes on their projects.
As an Agile coach and mentor, Vince is currently contracted by Daimler Trucks in Portland, OR to evaluate, train, and coach over 200 employees while assisting them with their Agile Scrum adoption.
He was also engaged by Marriott International to improve the Requirements Management process throughout their 1600 person IT department. During the transition period, he was actively involved as an on-site consultant at Marriott managing several pilot projects to help them use and adopt the RMF.
Vince also was engaged by Walt Disney World to assist their BA’s with one of the most critical IT projects, a redesign of Disney’s Property Management System (DPMS) for all 21 themed resorts using a Scrum approach. He mentored 14 BA’s and provided training to hundreds of others across Disney’s IT department, resulting in a successful adoption of a new Agile methodology.
On another project, Sunoco’s CTO brought Vince in to improve their BA processes, including improvement of their requirement deliverables, streamlining of their processes and alignment of the Requirements Management activities with their Project Management processes.
He is a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®), a Certified Virtual Facilitator (CVF), and a Certified Oracle OUM trainer. He holds a BS degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University and a MS degree in Computer Design from Pennsylvania State University. He resides in the Greater Philadelphia area and is an active member of the Philadelphia chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®).
