I BRING YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

An engineer with a passion for coding and team culture.

I think many men my age prefer the title “well seasoned” when referring to our marketability. My years as a product engineer and quality specialist are matched well by my education in the MAX Bootcamp and the agile mindset being adopted by companies across the globe.

At this point in my professional career, I used the Bootcamp career training to take a deep look at my goals and spent time evaluating my emotional intelligence or “soft skills”.  I knew I could tackle the technical aspects of JAVA and .NET but I wanted to focus on my ability to transition into a dynamic team of developers.

The ground-up training I received allows for me to have confident conversations from foundational database to the user interface. My capstone project exemplifies my understanding of the core requirements for developing a useful application. When I started the Bootcamp they told me how important it was that I reached a level of capability where I could learn on my own.  My instructor illustrated how important it was to find my own love of development and the skills I was receiving would help me find my passion.

WHAT I CAN ADD TO YOUR TEAM

An open mind and a relentless work ethic.

In our current virtual world and new “norm”, my years of experience prove valuable in ensuring you hire a developer that understands time management, efficient independent work habits, and a life-long learner eager to earn his place on a team. I can hit the ground running and take the temperature of the virtual room, use my experience, and bring a seasoned asset to your team.

GET TO KNOW JEFF PETERS.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TECH IN THE BOOTCAMP?
I gravitated towards the deployment and delivery of the overall app. Scrum really spoke to me as an engineer. Understanding the team dynamics required to deliver the app to market and looking for efficiencies that don’t sacrifice quality.

HOW DID YOU BALANCE THE BOOTCAMP AND FAMILY?
It wasn’t easy. It took time for me to get into a groove with the schedule. I was trying to pack as much additional study time into my evenings as possible and communicating my needs with my family and setting expectations made it easier for us to make it through.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHEN YOUR NOT CODING?
Thinking about coding.  Okay, that’s a little humor. I’m spending time with my family and now handling virtual school and trying to create connecting activities during the pandemic. We love to watch old game shows together and make our family secret spaghetti.

SEE FOR YOURSELF

In my full-stack bootcamp I compiled a significant amount of code in my GitHub and my Capstone Project is a functional example of my application development capability. Click below to see my GitHub, check out my Capstone Project, or download my resume.
