MAX COVID-19 Website Statement
May 13, 2020
Dear Students, Clients, Alumni and Friends of MAX Technical Training,
We are aware of and sensitive to your needs and challenges during the current coronavirus pandemic. Our number one concern is the health and safety of our employees, our instructors and our students. The majority of our employees and instructors continue to work from their homes. For those who do enter our facility, we sanitize regularly and thoroughly, and have repositioned our workstations to ensure at least 6 feet of distance between each person.
MAX has been well versed and practiced in virtual training for several years. At the onset of COVID-19 in the United States, we enhanced and expedited our virtual training efforts, ensuring that all courses were converted to virtual offerings. As an example, we partnered with the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce in early April to provide Microsoft Teams training in 60- to 90-minute formats at a substantial discount to Chamber members. We also converted two of our coding bootcamps to virtual settings, providing each of those students with a second monitor and all the supplies and direction they would need, including instruction on how to set up their at-home learning environment. All Information Technology (IT) classes went virtual. In the time since, for example, we conducted a private virtual Kubernetes bootcamp for 16 IT employees of a multi-state bank.
Our commitment to you continues at every level. In addition to our virtual training offerings and options, we launched free webinars to continue our passion for educating. Since launching those webinars in May, we have educated more than 180 participants in such subjects as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and JavaScript. More webinars are coming!
Now that businesses in many states are beginning to return to work, we will continue to actively monitor and follow the latest updates and recommendations from public health departments to guide our next steps. Until further notice, MAX will not host user groups or other groups at our facility. We do have one onsite bootcamp scheduled for June 8 and our August part-time bootcamp will be virtual on Monday and Wednesday nights and in person all day Saturdays. These bootcamps will be our only physical classroom training through the end of September, and it will include minimal staff. All other training classes will be virtual using our MAX Virtual platform.
Our focus moving forward will continue to be on virtual training. We encourage you to contact us at any time with any questions you might have about virtual offerings and options. We will keep you updated on our efforts to re-open our physical facility and training rooms.
For now, please stay safe and healthy.
