It was great to see so many people at our Alumni Party on Thursday, June 9! Bootcamp grads, current students, community partners, employers, and Cincy Code IT staff came together to celebrate our 5th year of transforming peoples’ lives. With current placement of 98% of our grads, along with an average salary of $51,000, Cincy Code IT bootcampers have a lot to celebrate!
Our party included bootcamp alums from 2012 to 2016, and our current .NET cohort of bootcampers. If you were there, thanks for coming. If you missed it, catch us on the next one.
It was great to see Piyush Singh, former CIO of Great American Insurance, and Denise Bartick, President of MAX Technical Training. Piyush and Denise co-founded the first “Developer Apprentice Program” in 2012, with the notion that Great American employees could be re-purposed as software developers. With excellent results from the first cohort in 2012, Great American has continued sending their employees, along with friends and family members of their employees, to Cincy Code IT Bootcamps.
Our community partners were also in attendance. Janice Urbanik, Executive Director with Partners for a Competitive Workforce, met with a number of bootcampers funded through her agency. She enjoyed meeting everyone and learning about their personal journeys. Sherry Marshall, President & CEO of the Southwest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board, spoke with alumni and those current bootcampers who have received Workforce Innovation & Opportunities Act grants.
